Hi there! How have you been?
I can't believe it is already February! What happened to January? If your January was anything like mine, it was a whirlwind of decluttering (physically and mentally), planning, and preparing. It feels great to have a general idea about where I am heading in the New Year and I have a lot to look forward to. There can be a ton of pressure created by the New Year so I hope you aren't stressing out if you didn't do everything you wanted to by the end of January - you have a whole year ahead of you to keep figuring things out. We can't plan everything, life happens!
I am so happy that my Monday night painting class at the Sherwood Center for the Arts is back in action. Last week, on the 27th of January, I started teaching the next round of Acrylic Painting. I try to teach this class every Monday, at least 4 weeks at a time, whenever I can at the center. I have so much fun meeting new students and journeying together in painting. Teaching forces me to paint fast and think about different ways to convey abstract ideas and useful principles while finding ways to let the student's individuality shine through. I LOVE IT!
Here is a painting that I worked on with the class that I later finished at home:
I am also teaching a Friday class for Homeschool and Charter School kids called S.T.E.A.M. Lab at the Sherwood Center for the Arts. This class is so much fun and I am so inspired by the curiosity of the students in the class. I will be teaching another round of Homeschool Arts at the Sherwood Center for the Arts in April. You can check out all of my class offerings here.
That is all I got for now! I hope you are doing awesome and I would love to hear from you!
